Guess Who's Back...

Greetings!!!

I cannot believe it has been just over two years since I posted a single thing on this blog!!  This blows my mind!!!  So many things have changed for my family personally over these past two years... Here is the best news... I QUIT MY JOB!!!!!  I know that sounds so insane, it feels kinda insane too!  Here is the deal... I am missing so much of life putting in a stressful 50+ hours a week that when I get home I have zero left in the tank which means that my kiddos get nada... Not really fair to them...  I also just received a diagnosis for my youngest daughter with her mental issues... It was a lot to swallow and made me remember that I needed to focus more on the little things in life...

Cheyanne and I have a lot of learning to do...  We all do really!  So lately I have been crocheting less (hurts my wrists a lot sometimes) and making soaps more and more...  I have been selling them for about a week and many of my drivers (from the job I am leaving Thursday) are raving about my soap!  I have been playing with recipes and enjoying the freedom of being creative once again!  Eventually I will get into Lye (just the sound scares me!!) but for now I am kinda being a wuss and using melt and pour... Oddly enough there are so very many things that you can do with these!

I want to focus on my crocheting, pattern writing, and my soap making while being the best mom and spouse I can possibly be!

Over the next few weeks I will be rearranging many things on the blog and facebook as well.  My oldest daughter has decided that she would really like to be involved in this so we are incorporating both of our names together to become Diamond Rose Crafts!  I know some people will find it irritating when the posts come across their newsfeed and will not stick around, however, it is my hope that most of you will hang out and see what comes next!!

Best Wishes!!!

Shelly Boot Cuffs - Teen/Adult Small

Hey everyone!!

I know that it has been a looong time since I have been on here and yet you guys keep on coming back!!  That has totally inspired me, I must say!  Soooo... In my spare time between work and parenting I have been working on some new stuff for my Etsy Store (yes, we are totally back on Etsy), Ravelry Store, and Craftsy Store!!

There are some patterns that I have listed under the "Dollar Deals" that include some infinity scarfs, tablet cases, and now including boot cuffs!  I have been kinda revamping things mentally and they are just starting to come together in reality... Or virtually!!  lol

Anyhow...  Please bare with me as I fumble through things on here!  This is the last pattern that I had tested!  It has NOT been listed in any of my shops!  I unfortunately do NOT have very good pix of it though... Sorry about that... haha I am seriously a work in progress!

So... I am thinking that these can be used with the cuff side up OR with the shell side up.  I do have a matching infinity cowl that I am posting soon, just not sure where yet!

Please enjoy this Shelly Boot Cuff and feel free to post some pix of your finished creations on the Facebook page!  I love seeing what others do with my creations!!

Worsted Weight Yarn – Red Heart with Love in “Pewter” was used in the sample

Notes
A Foundation Single Crochet (fsc) was used in my sample; you can follow the alternative directions if you are not comfortable with this.

There is a video tutorial for how to make the fdc, or Foundation Double Crochet.  To change this up and make the fsc you simply begin with a chain 2, and then follow along making the chain and single crochet.  As soon as I get situated in our new home I will work on making some more videos to help out on this.

RND 1 – Fsc 36, sl st to 1st fsc, ch 1
RND 1 Alternative Directions – Ch 36, sl st to beg ch, ch 1, sc in each ch, sl st to 1st sc
RND 2 – Hdc in the 1st st, *fpdc in the next st, hdc in the next st* repeat around, fpdc in the last st, sl st to beg hdc.
RND 3 to 4 – Ch 1 Hdc in the 1st st, *fpdc in the next st, hdc in the next st* repeat around, fpdc in the last st, sl st to beg hdc
RND 5 – Ch 3, 2 dc in the 1st st, *skip the next 3 st, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in the next st* repeat around, skip to the ch 3, 2 dc in the 1st of the RND, sl st to the 2nd ch of the ch 3
RND 6 to 10 – Sl st into the center of the shell below, ch 3, 2 dc in the center of the same shell, *skip to the center of the next shell, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in the center of the shell* repeat around to the last shell (the one you started in) 2 dc, sl st to the 2nd ch of the ch 3

Fasten off & weave in ends – You will have a bit of a gap where you began, I use the tail to attach the two sides and close that gap.  You can see this clearly in the bottom center of picture #1.
